About Tan Shi Zhou

Tan Shi Zhou is equipped with 3 years of experience in corporate sustainability and 10 years of experience volunteering on sustainability projects, He is currently the senior sustainability executive at NTU Singapore. Previously, I worked in the global and APAC sustainability function of Bolloré Logistics, Razer, and Xylem.


He is also the sustainability & impact lead of Flint, a climate focused deep-tech startup focusing on sustainable battery solutions. I also founded ACCESS Sustainability, a climate focused biotech startup that focuses on insect-based solutions.


Globally, He is part of the global coordination team of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of United Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC), working on global policies and partnerships. He is also currently serving as a board member of Youth4Nature (Y4N), a global youth-led nonprofit focused on climate and nature. In 2024, I represented Singapore on climate change at the G20 Youth Summit.


Regionally, I lead the outreach function of the Asian Environmental Youth Network (AEYN), organising a regional sustainability mentorship programme. I also served as a youth panellist for the Global Fund for Children Southeast Asia SparkFund where we developed a USD250,000 grant for youth-led projects in Southeast Asia. I’ve recently joined the World Wildlife Day Regional Youth Symposium as the relations lead.


Nationally, I served as the president of Earthlink NTU, and the chairperson of the United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UN-GCNS) Youth Forum. Subsequently, I founded and served as the chairperson of the Inter-University Environmental Coalition (IUEC) Singapore. I also served as the sustainability consultant for Singapore’s National Day Parade since 2021. I’ve recently co-founded the Climate Interfaith Youth Network as the vice-chairperson.


He has been recognised for my work through the NEA EcoFriend Award, the ASEAN Youth Icon on Sustainability, the ASEAN Youth Eco-Champion Award, the Common Purpose 25Under25 Global Legacy Award, the Eco-Business A-List Youth Award, the Northeast District Environment Award, and the HSBC/NYAA Youth Environmental Award.


He is currently pursuing my MA in International Affairs & Diplomacy at UNITAR, and my MSc in Environmental Sustainability at University College Dublin. I also hold a BEng in Materials Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, and Diplomas in sustainable fashion, corporate sustainability, environmental technology, and chemical engineering.
